How I MADE It is a Show & Tell Event Series every 2nd Friday, monthly at MADE by Millworks. This month will be hosted by Sarah Thursday.

Following the featured presenters, you are invited to share your story of how YOU made it in a 5-minute slot.
How I MADE It is open to interpretation. How I MADE … a product, poem, story, or song, or even through a tough trial, a divorce, giving birth, being a single parent, grad school, traveling alone, a marathon or becoming what you dreamed. Stories can be told through poems, songs, and other creative means.

Melissa Lussier, a recent transplant to Long Beach via Buffalo, NY, is a singer/songwriter whose music is a rich tapestry of fiery folk, sultry blues, and indie rock. Lyrical and evocative, from soft and soulful acoustic to rock, her performance is a raw and vulnerable celebration of the power of human emotion.
Clifton Snider, the celebrated author of Moonman: New and Selected Poems and the historical novel, The Plymouth Papers, has just published The Beatle Bump, his unique take on the greatest rock band in history.
Boris Salvador Ingles, from Boyle Heights, combines poetry and photography, as means for visual and emotional expression. His photos and poetry have appeared in Spectrum, Spectrum 2, Cadence Collective: Year Two Anthology, Then & Now: Conversations With Old Friends, the Coiled Serpent Anthology, and most recently, two issues of Incandescent Mind.
Sara K. Pilchman, a pottery artist from Long Beach and exhibit preparator’s coordinator for LAX Airport and Angel’s Gate museum, will be bringing her pottery wheel doing a demonstration on making ceramics.
